Ovato is a printer, distributor and marketer. They specialise in catalogues, magazines, packaging, promotional materials and direct marketing and is the largest print post mailer in Australia.
In 2019 when PMP Limited relaunched as Ovato, they wanted an eye catching invitation for Ovato’s event to launch their new brand and visual identity. SBM developed a concept for the invitation that was based around revealing and hinting the brand very subtly at first before giving a more overt taste. The creative team at SBM designed a bespoke envelope that was crafted with 350gsm silk and then covered with a velvet laminate. The exterior sparingly utilised three finishes – copper foil, spot UV and a strategically placed diecut – to highlight the Ovato brand name, ensuring it popped off the dark navy blue design. The interior featured a large and abstract detail of the Ovato logo, where the bold colours framed the invitation itself while also hinting at the brand. The invitation was an uncoated card, double mounted for weight and presence. It utilised brand colours, fonts and a minimalist design aesthetic.
